Millions of people tend to believe that running to lose weight is the only way to get the results that they want; however I am here to tell you that is not the case. In fact there are much better things that you can do besides jogging or running to begin getting the results that you desire.

If you are like hundreds of people that I know; they swear up and down that they will never begin running to lose weight. In fact many of them say that they would not begin running or jogging; unless their life depended on them. We already know that this type of exercise is not for everyone and if you are one of those people who hate running; then you will definitely want to lose weight.

While this method has been known to help people reach their weight loss goals; it is not the only way to begin shedding those unwanted pounds. In fact I would like to share with you some other proven methods that will help you achieve the goals that you are trying to get.

1. Weight Training: This is a great method to help you burn fat and develop muscles.

2. Strength Training: This is similar to weight training; however is designed to develop or tone your muscles without joining a gym. Both men and women can benefit from this type of program because it is used to develop a more toned body. Women seem to love this program because while it does tone the body; it does not make us like a guy with too many muscles.

3. Walking: This can be a great substitute to running to lose weight. Another great thing about walking is that it is easier on the joints and muscles than running is.

4. Cycling: Bicycling to lose weight is another great way to shed pounds. This is a great activity that you can get the whole family involved with.

While there are several different types of exercises that you can do to begin getting in shape. One of the most important things that you want to do is get your body moving.
